The Monster in the Woods

In this *AWARD WINNING* animated short film, Marley (Starr Davis) and her mom Olivia (Jania Suitte), move into their new home in a small town for a fresh start. At first glance, Marley has a hard time adjusting to the circumstances and prays for going back. On her way to school in the first day, she encounters and is bullied by two boys named Jack (Kameryn Davis-Morningstar) and Dennis (Grant Camat), who mention a scary "Monster in the Woods". Running away, frightened by the bullies, Marley finds herself in the woods where she meets the monster, whom she befriends and names Max (Logan Edwards). The story considers our preconceived notions about new things, places, people, and yes, so-called "monsters". It takes us through the journey of discovery and teaches us about the perils of preconceptions and how darkness is always accompanied by light. Marley's journey examines how the unknown, be it a place, human, or even a monster, can be scary or wonderfully joyful and comforting should we choose to embrace it.
